A string of islands and small islands classified natural reserve since 1981.
The archipelago of Lavezzi, with the southern extrème of Corsica, essaime a multitude of small islands and small islands classified natural reserve in 1981.
Paradises of the pleasure, the Lavezzi islands remain partially prohibited with damping in order to preserve the herbaria of posidonies, put at evil by the marine anchors. What distinguishes is archipelago with the preserved naturalness, it is a chaos of rock blocks emerging from transparent water; it gathers the island of Cavallo (covered of sumptuous villas properties of great names of the media), and the small islands of Piana, Ratino, Porraggia and Perduto.
Sea-beds are rich in coreaux in large mother-of-pearl or sponges. The patella, a mollusc in the process of disparation elsewhere, is still present in the littoral zone, the dolphin and the tortoises always swim there, the mérou returned at the point to do of it one of the zones of France most populated by the species. A corner of Lavezzi at same summer called “Mérouville” by the plungers.
The beauty of the decoration and the spectacle attracts obviously the public. In summer, three hundred plungers on average are found each day around “Mérouville” and more than one hundred fifty sailing ships or Yachts wet each evening in the zone.
This strong frequentation is not without consequences on the echoes system. The anchors scrape sea-beds, the inexperienced plungers destroy the coral and the gorgone which feeds Mérou. The protection of the zone, thus became necessary and without making an immense sanctuary or all of it to serair prohibited, it is imperative to manage this territory and to develop an inheritance touiristic by the control of the human activities.
